The goal of this week's assignment was to photograph someone in their element. The picture I turned in this week was not one of my favorites although it did fulfill the requirements for the assignment and in the end it could have functioned for some kind of news related story. I found that shooting with the light inside has very different effects on the photograph compared with shooting in gentle tones of daylight. This became very prominent when I tried to take photos in the yellow light of Carver Gym. Each week brings a new challenge and all I can hope for is improvement in the following weeks.
Next week: Genuine Emotion/ Relationship
Griffin Day, 21, sits in the Western Washington Athletics intern office in Carver Gym on Feb. 3 2011. Day is the Viking Game-Day Coordinating Intern and is one of seven interns working for the Western Washington Athletics department. “I love sports,” said Day, “this has been a great way for me to stay involved in the school and also gain work experience for after school.” Day is responsible for organizing promotional plans for home events, coordinating half-time events and working with the Western’s fan club the Blue Crew. More information about Western Washington Athletics can be found on Western's Athletics page at WWU Vikings
